I chose LSUA because...

I wanted an affordable college education. I took a gap year before finally deciding to continue my academic journey and found out about LSUA while researching colleges. I was drawn in by the affordable price and small class size. My experience here has been so much better than I ever could have imagined. LSUA was the perfect choice for me and I could not be happier with my decision!

My favorite LSUA class/professor is...

the one and only Dr. Ordes! He is the political scientist on campus and one of the best professors that LSUA has to offer. He always goes above and beyond to help students and create an engaging educational environment. If you have to take any political science courses I can not recommend Dr. Ordes enough! Dr. Ordes offers a political simulation course that focuses on international relations and is available to all students who have taken American Government. This interactive course is extremely informational and a fun time! It can be taken as an elective for almost any major and I would recommend it to anyone interested in politics.

The highlight of my college experience at LSUA has been...

seeing myself change and grow into a person that I have always wanted to be. During high school I was extremely timid and shy, since starting college I have come out of my shell so much more than I could have ever imagined. Part of the reason was becoming a Student Ambassador. I was given the courage to push the boundaries of my comfort zone everyday. I feel comfortable talking to strangers and making great connections out of nowhere, which would have terrified me before becoming a General.

My advice to incoming students is...

to take a break! College can extremely difficult at times and it is important to set aside time for yourself in order to recharge. Staring at notes, textbooks, or a computer screen all day long is only going to cause burnout. Go out and have fun every once in a while! I love to go out on the quad or the Magnolia Cafe and hang out with my friends. It creates a great buffer in-between study sessions and doing homework to give myself a well deserved brain break.
