The highlight of my college experience at LSUA has been...
The community of LSUA. When I got here, I was close-minded and stayed to myself. The overwhelming support of LSUA has brought me out of my shell and made me a better person.
How I grew as a student during my first semester...
My first semester was actually pretty horrid. Not because of LSUA, but because of my own personal battles. I was at peak depression, my anxiety rates were through the roof, I was not sleeping, not eating and doing no recreational activities that brought me joy. Dr. Julie Gill and finding golf were 2 of the biggest reasons for my success now, and i mean that with my entire heart.
My advice to incoming students is...
GO TO CLASS and participate. if you miss 1 class, then you usually miss 2, then 3, then next thing you know you have missed the entire semester. Participate in class, it will build relationships and your classmates will respect you ability to ask questions.
My favorite study habit/trick is...
Active recall and quiz-let. I am a big memory guy, I like to memorize everything is possible. Also, not procrastinating is huge.
