My advice to incoming students is...
Don't be afraid! College is fun. Try to make friends and join student organizations. Try to build relationships with your classmates as well as the faculty and staff on campus. They do not want to fail you!

Definitely the Quad! I love hanging out there with my friends. The Quad is also where lots of the events take place so it never gets boring there!
