How I grew as a student during my first semester...
During my first semester at LSUA, I was a 10th grade Dual-Enrollment student from Marksville High school, and while I was advanced and matured for my age, nothing could prepare me for the seriousness of the professors. I had to learn when and when not to crack a joke about a subject and its content. Now I can pick up on social cues and make a proper and time appropriate joke.
The highlight of my college experience at LSUA has been...
My time at LSUA, has been filled with adventure, discovery and thrilling moments, but the highlight of my experience so far is generals Jam. I had a blast at 2024’s General Jam, the event was lively, exhilarating, and packed with laughter.
My advice to incoming students is...
My advice to incoming students, as cliques as it may be, is to be your authentic self. In Elementary school you have that spark of imagination and creativity, it’s authentic, then you progress up into high school and you start to purposefully dim that spark in order to fit in, colleges is the place where you can become that authentic person again. So my advice to you would be to be the best, most authentic you that you can be. Creativity and imagination are the tools used to shape the future.
My favorite campus tradition is...
One of my favorite campus traditions is the weeks of welcome. During the first few weeks of school, the quad is as lively as it will ever be. We have clubs, organizations, the local communities and others all gather on the quad and showcase all that LSUA and the community has to offer; that plus all of the free items that I would receive, really makes me feel appreciated and welcomed.
