My favorite class was Introduction to Communication with Professor Jessica Thacker. This communications class was so helpful outside of the class room, allowing me to learn and grow in my communication skills and then applying my newly learned skills into different areas of my life.
My favorite campus tradition is the event known as Weeks of Welcome. Weeks of Welcome takes place during the 2 weeks proceeding the first day of school. In these 2 weeks, students are given the opportunity to participate in a plethora of campus activities, meet new people, faculty, and even become familiar with the campus.
Being a Student Ambassador has been the highlight of my college experience at LSUA. Being a part of this program has allowed for many new relationships/connections and so much personal growth in my life. As Ambassadors, we get to meet most, if not all, students and faculty, but specifically new students. We are the first faces they see and can help create a comfortable transition into college life. We are also given the opportunity to travel the nation representing LSUA and gaining new experiences along the way.
My favorite spot on campus is the BCM, also known as the Baptist Collegiate Ministries building. This facility is a multi-purpose building where student can play games, have free food, and join in on Christian ministry activities (worships nights, bible studies, etc.). Another thing I love about this building is the fact that, although its in the name, the BCM is not only for those who classify as the Baptist denomination of Christianity, but all are welcomed.
